I do like the fact that you tell it how it is and hold nothing back. You are true to the letter so to speak lol. To get to the point anime is anime, plan and simple. You eather hate or you love and most people don’t understand that, so they have to make a big deal about it. well that’s all i have to say and it might sound stupid but who cares!

i kind of agree with you there. Although I think i can classify myself As a scary yaoifangirl. i do not think heterosexuality is “the devils work and all should be gay” which is what some YFG’s i know are like. although i find myself screaming at the top of my lungs and giggling when anything possibley “homoerotic” is hapening near me. sorry im rambling what I mean is; people should be more afraid of fangirls yaoi and het alike, then they are. especialy fanboys. Im pretty sure you could break an FF7 fanboys mind if you could show them the amount of manman lovin that is hinted in the game.

I think I agree with you. Yaoi fangirls seem scarier offline than online actually.

I think I find them scary is because they are so FINE with it. I’d never say, “I LOVE YAOI!” randomly, and in public. I enjoy it at home more *cough cough pervert* than in public.

I love yaoi, but I do respect that you don’t. You tried it; good for you! I have noticed it can get a little frivolous at times, but I overlook that for the sake of the hot guys and romantic-ness.

I don’t believe in how you said Gravitation has bad art. (I’ve only seen the anime. Is the manga worse in drawing?) I really thought it was beautifully drawn in the anime.

Mimori, you reckon you’re 13 years old, and you’re into all sorts of gross crap. Kid, I can already tell that someone’s parents have really, really failed. Rabid Yaoi fangirls totally blow. There’s the normal kind, who while I don’t agree with you, you don’t bug me, I’ll try not to bug you, we’re cool. Then you get the lunatics like the idiots flaming this blog, and those are the ones who need their own special ward in a mental hospital, IMO. How hard is it to watch an anime without your main thought being “Hmmm, I wonder how I can change the personalities of these characters to make them into perverted, nymphomaniacal sodomites for me and my fellow lunatics to she-fap to!”

Sorry for the psuedo-rant, but this is somethin’ I feel pretty strongly about.

On the whole, I’m inclined to agree with you. I read yaoi when I feel like it, and when I don’t I read pretty much everything. However, I think the whole ‘You only like such and such because of the yaoi’, or ‘These characters are not gay so stop writing them as such’. The first one i can understand as a generalisation, but the second..
Well, the thing about fanfics; they’re the excuse for a person to write their favourite characters doing something that they might not normally do, or getting thrown into a whole new situation.
So making a bit of subtext and writing it as if it were more , whether it’s yaoi, yuri or het, is just a normal continuation.

I happen to live in a part of England where the ‘Otaku’ sub-culture is pretty much non-existant, or just very well hidden, so I’ve never yet met a real life yaoi-fangirl(I think).

Also-Slash every known canonical character (do not, for the love of God, tell me how much you love Roy heart Ed! Don’t touch my Roy!)

That kind of sound a bit fangirlish to me. After all, the whole ‘Don’t touch my precious bishonen-kun’ Is considered a staple.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it’s a bad thing- I’ve been guilty of fangirlism more times than I can count, however doing that while riling against fangirls and acting as though you alone can dictate what we can and can’t do in our stories? Seriously, that not okay.

Finally, every genre is subject to stereotypical plots regularly. the Yaou/Shounen-ai/BL genre is not only still pretty new, its also pretty much mostly written by newly pubescent girls, who are just trying to fulfill their little fantasies and have found a way to share them with others.
Sure some might go over the top at times. But cut them some slack- 80% will grow out of it, and come to realise what they did was not their best works. Still, all you do is seem a bit to uptight and not very smart if you just start ranting on something without thinking it through.

And if none of that works? Just ignore them and get on with you life. It certainly works for me.

Specially the yaoi fangirls of Tsubasa with FyexKurogane waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa kyaa I can´t take it anymore in forums they only see that!! on episodes!!! waaa .. The insane yaoi fan girls/ normal rabid fan girls scare me a lot. They start screaming at the top of their lungs at you if you don’t like whatever they like, and even walk up to you and act like they’ll hit you one. (this happened to me, fortunately I left before violence occurred) I have to keep silent in places because I don’t know what reaction I’ll get from fans. They really are making anime and cons less fun for us normal and reasonable people.
This girl actually wanted to start a fight because she truly believed an anime character was real. Yikes! It’s just a picture on paper.
And sure I like certain yaoi, I’ve read my share, I know what means what and who are the most fave pairings. But seriously, don’t these girls have any other life than attacking others who just have a different opinion? Or spend their time shoving it in our faces? I know this one girl who I asked her opinion and she went on a rampage, talking so loudly in public about sexual ’stuff’ that people were looking at us like we were some awful perverts. (I wouldn’t blame them.) I was so embarrassed…
We get the picture girls, move on.

woot woot. i luuuuv YAOI!! xD but, none of those series are very really long…:( so i have to fill up my pc with action, samuai, ninja, and sportas animes while im between good yaois. AND, the reason girls like to watch yaoi, is the same reason guys like to see yuri! so no matter what ur gender is, you should understand mostly ….
Personally tho, i like enzai and ‘papa to kiss in the dark’…

so far…i havent found a yaoi that i like as much as some other animes.
